Our Story
A Problem Worth Solving
As an experienced technologist with a master's degree in engineering, Nisarg Shah noticed that tracking and sensing technology in the healthcare sphere was deeply fragmented and needlessly expensive.
He built a unified platform that integrated asset tracking, operational status and utilisation data from a custom-built, affordable sensor that allowed hospitals and later underground mining companies to quickly access real-time insights, streamline operations, and make data-driven decisions.
Then Manufacturing Came Knocking
So how did a healthcare network technologist end up founding a manufacturing SaaS company? By request.
In 2020, the Australian Federal Advanced Manufacturing Growth Centre reached out, recognising that his expertise in operational tracking and efficiency optimisation would be beneficial to help manufacturers solve their productivity challenges. They connected him with a leading Australian job shop.
After successfully adapting the sensing technology to track production downtime and predict maintenance needs, R. Moore's CEO challenged Nisarg to create a custom scheduling tool that could handle their complexity.
Four years of development and testing later, Smart Shop Floor was born.
Today, Smart Shop Floor continues evolving alongside our manufacturing partners, transforming traditional job shops into data-driven, Lean operations. What started as a challenge to solve complex scheduling has grown into a complete platform that drives visibility across the entire organisation — enabling seamless collaboration between shop floor, office staff, and customers.
