Rotable Management
Complete lifecycle control for high-value serviceable parts.
Manage rotables from mine to shop floor and back into service. Ideal for OEMs, asset managers, or mining operations with in-house maintenance. Rotable asset management integrates directly with production scheduling and customer communication — eliminating the delays and disconnects that tie up capital and extend downtime.

What is a repairable spare?
In the mining industry, rotable parts are high-value components that can be repaired or refurbished and reused multiple times. They "rotate" through a cycle of being in service, removed for repair, and then returned to inventory for future use.
How Rotable Spares Work in Smart Shop Floor
Asset Arrives for Service
Mining operation sends the component to the OEM service centre for scheduled refurbishment. The workshop updates the component's status in Smart Shop Floor's Rotables Dashboard, tracking it through the repair cycle.
Inspection Report & Repair Quote
Technicians complete a digital inspection form on tablet, pre-filled with equipment specifications. They identify components requiring replacement and generate a refurbishment quote. The inspection report and quote are sent automatically to the client through the Customer Portal.
AI-Based Inventory Management
Based on the inspection findings, bill of materials, and repair history, Smart Shop Floor flags which replacement components are low or out of stock. The purchasing team gets advance notice of what to order.
Go-Ahead Decision with Documented Approval
Through the Customer Portal, the client reviews the quote and approves the work — creating a timestamped record. The back office team receives an alert that the job is cleared to proceed.
Automated Work Allocation
The refurbishment job automatically enters the production schedule, slotted around higher-priority work. Each operation is assigned to appropriate equipment and qualified technicians. The client can track progress in real-time through the portal.
Completion & Return to Spares Pool
Once repair work is complete, the workshop ships the component back to the mining operation's spares inventory — fully refurbished to OEM specifications and ready for the next swap cycle.
Lifetime Repair Cost Review
The team reviews the Rotables Dashboard to see total repair costs across the component's service life. This data informs future pricing decisions and helps identify when components are becoming uneconomical to refurbish.
Get More Value from Every Rotable
Go full throttle with proper capital tracking, availability planning, and cost analysis.
Free up capital locked in idle components
Expensive replacement parts sit in storage — sometimes forgotten, often underutilised. Know exactly what rotables you have, where they are in the repair cycle, and which ones are ready for deployment.
Eliminate downtime from poor parts availability
When critical equipment goes down, limited redundancy of backup components means rotables have to get up and running again as fast as possible. Tools to speed up customer approvals and manage inventory reduce downtime.
Make repair-or-replace decisions based on real cost data
Is it worth spending $20K rebuilding a component that's done a million cycles, or is it time to retire it? The Rotables Dashboard shows lifetime repair costs alongside service history and cost trends, so operators can make fully informed decisions.
Features
Rotables on the Fixed Assets Dashboard
Rotating spares are fixed assets with a unique ID to track them as they come in and out of service. Each item has a customised maintenance plan with usage-based or scheduled reminders. The Rotables Dashboard gives you access to everything you need to manage serviceable assets — active jobs, complete jobs, saved inspection forms, service history, and cost trends.

Inspection Reports
The entire process starts with a strip and assess. To speed up the inspection and make it easier to complete a condition report on a tablet, Smart Shop Floor automatically fills in customisable equipment details from your operations system. Staff just fill in the pertinent details, record photos and file the digital form, which creates a detailed record saved to the part.

Customer Approval & Communication
Once the inspection is complete, the report is sent automatically to the customer for review. They approve or reject the Forward Maintenance Plan through the Customer Portal — a secure web interface showing real-time data on quotes, work progress, and estimated completion dates. Customers authorise work before you commit resources.

Inventory & Scheduling
Every rotable has its own bill of materials and maintenance schedule. Our AI flags parts due for retrofitting while also ensuring that the needed materials are in stock, predicting missing BOM items based on standard repair intervals. Once materials are confirmed, the scheduling module coordinates the repair work, assigns labour, and ensures the job stays on pace.

Cost Analysis
Managing lifetime rebuilding costs is difficult, with no single reference point and every cost a different line item. The Rotable Dashboard displays detailed costing including labour hours and materials cost for each work order. Smart Shop Floor reviews these numbers to spot downward trends, where you might have thinning margins and need to adjust course.
