Machine monitoring

Non-intrusive machine monitoring, with sensors we manufacture.

Wireless sensors that record when a machine runs and when it stops, without accessing its controller or PLC. Operators add the reason. For job shops and manufacturers across Australia and New Zealand.

How it works

1

Fit the sensor

It is wireless and does not access the machine's controller or PLC.

2

See run and idle time

Uptime and downtime show on the machine utilisation dashboard.

3

Operators record why

They log the reason for idle time on their tablet, using the options you choose.

What you see

Machine utilisation

Run and idle time for each machine, with downtime reasons.

Andon lights

Red when a machine is stopped, green when it is running, purple when an operator presses the tablet button for help.

As described by R. Moore and Sons in their customer video.

Maintenance signals

Sensors on the machines send live vibration data, so maintenance can be planned before a machine fails.

As described by R. Moore and Sons in their customer video.

In their words

Klinger Australia

Klinger put our sensors on five key work centres to see whether each is running or idle. Operators record why a work centre is down. Klinger's finance director says it was not a project of tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars, and describes the capital cost as low.

Hofmann Engineering

Hofmann's general manager describes fitting a current sensor to the head of a gear grinding machine and having it running within the hour. The downtime buttons use the machinists' own words, such as operator busy and no jobs.

Where it came from

The sensor started in healthcare and underground mining. COREIoT adapted it to track production downtime in a job shop. COREIoT's Sensor System innovation patent 2021103530 was granted in August 2021.

This describes the sensor system, not the whole Smart Shop Floor platform.

Works with the ERP you already run

Machine monitoring runs beside your ERP. You do not have to replace it.

Questions manufacturers ask

Does it need access to my machine's controller or PLC?

No. The sensors are wireless and read the machine from outside. Klinger Australia monitors run and idle time this way.

Who records why a machine stopped?

The operator, on a tablet at the machine. You choose the reasons on the menu.

Do I have to replace my ERP?

No. Smart Shop Floor works alongside the ERP you already run. See legacy ERP modernisation.
